TMVOA continues to be a leader in the community, providing resources to research other resort communities in an effort to achieve our mission.

Community Plan

TMVOA initiated a community planning effort in September 2007, hiring Ecosign Mountain Resort Planners along with several other experts to complete the plan in spring 2008. Our goal is to ensure Mountain Village can be a highly sustainable and vital resort community, positioned for smart growth. This process is also a response to demand from residents and business leaders who feel the town would benefit from a plan for future development.

The first phase of the scope of work was expanded in April 2008 to include a more immediate and detailed retail study of Mountain Village, including guest spending patterns, shopping options, traffic patterns, merchant appeal, site strengths and weaknesses, and more.

The initial scope of work for this first phase is being completed by Ecosign and includes a comprehensive inventory of the town, a balance analysis and a public review of the findings. One of the first deliverables included new aerial photos.  To view one of these photos, click here.

Additionally, TMVOA has hired Economics Research Associates (ERA) to provide a more in-depth commercial and retail study and analysis. ERA is an international consulting firm that specializes in real estate, entertainment and leisure, as well as land use policy and planning.

ERA will complete the study and analysis spring 2008, at which point Ecosign will incorporate the findings into its report and presentation to the public.

Parking

During the October 2007 TMVOA board meeting, Town Council and TMVOA agreed to engage Ecosign, hired to develop a community plan for the town, to make short-term parking recommendations for the ski season. Please click here to view the complete report.
