Ecosign completes Core Revitalization Report

In July 2008, TMVOA executed a contract with Ecosign Mountain Planners to complete a “Core Revitalization Report.”  The scope of work includes the following:

  1. Sustainable Commercial Space Analysis
  2. Commercial Space Casting
  3. Conceptual Alternatives for a Redesign of the Village Core
  4. Analysis of Servicing, Delivery and Waste Management Systems Plan
  5. Review of Existing Codes, Design Standards and Review Policies for Storefronts, General Architectural Standards Review and Sign Design Standards
  6. Telluride Conference Center Analysis

Ecosign & ERA presented a draft of the deliverables from the existing contract to the Board on September 17, 2008.  At this meeting, the Board gave further direction to the consultants to complete the following:

  1. Provide all written materials from the day’s presentation to the Board for review and commentary.
  2. Finalize the Core Revitalization report, incorporating the Board’s comments, pursuant to the contract terms.
  3. Prepare a proposal for the Board to implement the Core Revitalization recommendations.
  4. Prepare a proposal for “Phase II”, including design options for the “potential future development parcels” that were identified in the Balance Analysis and the public process for the community to consider these alternatives.
  5. Prepare a proposal for the use of ERA in developing a tenant recruitment program.

At the October 20, 2008 Board meeting, the TMVOA Board decided to appoint a committee to work with the consultants to complete the Core Revitalization Report.  Michael Wisniewski and Dave Riley were appointed to the committee to finish the report, with the goal of having it completed for the November 20, 2008 Board meeting.  The Directors met regularly with the consultants and staff; and subsequent to the December election, President Nelson Sharp began working on the committee with Dave Riley.

A final draft of the Core Revitalization Report was accepted by TMVOA at the April 1st Board Meeting. The report will be presented to the TMVOA membership on August 14 at 10am in the Telluride Conference Center.
